2/19/2024 0 Comments Logic pro x vs abletonOne thing that LPX still does better is midi editing/classical composition. On LPX I had to do all of this using the mouse which was a pain - on the push it's almost a joy to be able to adjust the fader levels, the reverb send and EQ levels, it gives me a much deeper connection with the music. You can adjust fader levels, choose different scales and keys, quantize, automate, mix and match loops, record sessions and test them out, program all your rhythms beforehand, and so much more that I haven't even explored yet. It does almost everything, besides manipulating third-party plugins like Massive. On Logic once you record something, you're loathe to change it (out of fear that you might make it sound worse), but with session view all you have to do is create a few new loops, copy the midi over, and test it out without affecting anything in your track. Session view is ridiculously awesome, I can demo 4-5 ideas at a time, mix and match tracks, and then record all 5 tracks at the same time. Like you I've used LPX for the past 2 years and LP9 before that, recently switched to Ableton + Push 2 and holy moly I can't believe this is how much I've been missing out on.įor one, trying out ideas doesn't feel like a chore anymore.
